In this article, we cover the royalty upload process to be followed by Deal Administrators at Business Partners Limited.
The purpose of this program is to simplify the uploading of mass Royalty conditions to SAP.
Before we begin, please note the following pre-requisites.
- The financial model containing the royalty conditions to load.
- A relevant royalty account in SAP to have been created already and the first condition loaded.
- The royalty upload template attached to this article.
- Have relevant Deal Administrator authorisations on SAP. (If you are a DA, you already have this).
Step 1
Download and open the attached template. "RoyaltyUploadTemplate.xlsm"
Step 2
Open the relevant financial model (fin model) document associated with the Royalty and click on the DataInput tab at the bottom
Step 3
Find line number 1.4 and enter the applicable Royalty Fee Account Number in the second yellow input cell.
Step 4
Unhide the "Data" tab by right clicking on the bottom sheet tab view and clicking unhide, then select the data sheet and click ok.
Step 5
Scroll down to the Royalty section with the headings "App Number", "Month/Year" and "Royalty Incl" respectively
Step 6
Copy the entire royalty section from the first condition until the last, DO NOT COPY THE HEADINGS, below is an example, Please note that the selection moves further off screen as there are multiple rows of data.
Step 7
Paste the copied values into the block provided in the Royalty Upload Template, ensure that when pasting you select "Values and Number Formatting" as a paste option.
Step 8
After confirming the values on the spreadsheet and now showing correctly as expected, click the "Generate Upload File" button on the spreadsheet, if successful a message will be displayed.
You are now done.
Please check the relevant royalty account on SAP the next morning to confirm successful upload. An automated system process uploads all the relevant royalty files for that day.
If you have any issues with this process, please log an incident and escalate to your relevant IT personnel.
